Bracken Bank Lodge, Penrith, Cumbria
Cumbria, The Lake District has recently been voted the most romantic wedding destination in Britain. This famous Lodge dates from the 16th Century and has a snooker room, log fires and four poster beds. The 700 acre estate has lakes, deer and red squirrel. There is a stunning all year marquee with its own stage, dance floor, bar, bathroom, circular tables, gilt chairs and glass chandeliers. Civil ceremonies are held in the marquee, a room adjoining the marquee, in the reception rooms of the lodge, in the beautiful garden and in a stone temple on an island on one of the lakes. There are also four local country churches to choose from with a very friendly vicar. Bracken Bank Lodge is a very special venue and offers private, romantic and relaxed weddings. Whether large, small, themed or traditional, weddings at this impressive lodge are truly magical. There is overnight accommodation for twelve guests at the lodge with a very wide range of local places to stay. The unrivalled professional planning service, for which there is no charge, helps make organising your wedding enjoyable and stress free. There is a fabulous range of local services for all your needs including horse drawn carriages, vintage Rolls Royce and musicians. Sharrow Bay, Penrith, Cumbria
Bank House, Wedding venue of the year in 2006, is situated just over a mile from the Main House. Sharrow Bay's 'Jewel in the Crown' is elevated on the fell side with magnificent views over Lake Ullswater and the surrounding fells, Bank House is a stunningly beautiful venue that offers complete exclusivity. There are no interruptions or distractions, just you and your special day. Bank House can accommodate wedding groups of up to 28 people. Within the house there are five double bedrooms with panoramic views over Lake Ullswater, ideal for your immediate wedding party. Additional accommodation is available in our Edwardian Lodge, Garden Room and Main House and we can of course arrange transportation between the two houses if required. If you are looking for a larger wedding then exclusive use of Sharrow Bay is an ideal option. The hotel can cater for up to 60 guests allowing you to dine in front of the most beautiful of views. top

As you will be the only guests at The Samling, you decide the order of the day, your wedding breakfast menu and which one of our 11 fantastic rooms you decide to spend your first married night together. However, experienced help is always at hand to guide you through your wedding day. Every detail is meticulously thought of beforehand, so that on your wedding day, you only have to enjoy yourselves. There can be no more romantic a situation to get married; after the ceremony, champagne is served on the terrace and in the beautifully kept gardens, don’t worry about how much champagne is being drunk, it’s all included in the price. There won’t be any random face in the photos or staff rushing you through the day; the Samling is yours in its entirety.
