In 1878 the castle and its setting captivated the leading opera star of the day, who felt she had found the home of her dreams amid the calm isolation of this beautiful valley. The castle's name alone strikes a romantic note and in rough translation means 'Rock of the Night'. Craig-y-Nos Castle has excellent wedding and banqueting facilities catering for small parties and large parties. All the comforts of the castle are offered together with a friendly service that will realise your every expectation for a successful event. The castle houses a grade one listed opera house theatre as well as newly refurbished Conservatory, both venues are licensed for weddings, making Craig-y-Nos the perfect setting for taking your marriage vows. You are welcome to come and view the castle and its listed gardens. This gives you the chance to picture how your wedding will be, in such a beautiful setting surrounded by history and romance.  top

Glanusk Estate, Crickhowell, Powys
Glanusk Park and Estate is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Usk Valley around Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Estate is stunning and consists of 400 acres of private parkland enclosed within a traditional stone wall, 20,000 acres of Common Land, a 5 mile Private stretch of the River Usk and 900 acres of forestry. Should you wish to stay at the Estate, Penmyarth House, Glanusk Lodge and our cottages are all within walking distance of your venue. The private church, in an idyllic setting overlooking the River Usk, is available for you and the reception can be held at Penmyarth House, Glanusk Lodge or in a few areas perfectly situated for a marquee. Glanusk Lodge is situated amongst beautiful landscaped gardens. A natural auditorium at the rear of the house looking out to the river and mountains is truly stunning and a beautiful area to have your marquee. Glanusk Lodge boasts six bedrooms, each bedroom is individually designed and some with the original decor and with ensuite or private bathrooms. Looking out onto the garden is the beautiful drawing room with an open fireplace, the french doors of the lobby open out onto the glorious park views. The kitchen hosts the original aga and is full of crockery and glasses, enough for large parties. The dining room looks over the garden and has french doors which open to the paved surrounding patio. Penmyarth House has 7 double bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The House contains many historical artifacts dating back hundreds of years including the large mahogany and copper bath from the original house. The dining room can seat up to 24 people and there are a number of other outstanding and alternative venues for entertaining within the park walls should you wish for a change of scene. The drawing room is available at Glanusk Lodge and also Penmyarth House for the family photographs. We have unique buildings and stunning gardens which will make your wedding very special. Should the wedding ceremony be held elsewhere, the house and grounds would still be available and we would be happy to talk further. top
