Hafton Castle, Argyll
Hafton Castle is an idyllic wedding location, the perfect place for an intimate family wedding. The joy of a wedding at Hafton is that you can tailor-make the occasion to suit yourself, plan the whole wedding to suit your tastes and your budget. Rental rates are very reasonable and you can extend the occasion and enjoy the company of your friends and family beyond the day itself, and stay for a few days or even a week. The castle can accommodate 42 persons in 19 en-suite rooms (one bedroom has a four poster bed, ideal for a honeymoon) and numerous public rooms. Hafton Castle is a magnificent building with views across Holy Loch, set in its own delightful gardens with its own magnificent indoor swimming pool. (Please note that the price quoted does not include the heating and use of the pool – there is an additional charge of £500 for this.) The Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, billiard room, toy room, big conservatory and lots of outdoor space, plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The magnificent front hall has plenty of seats, wood-burner and a grand piano. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle. The bedrooms are very comfortable and all have en suite showers. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase. There are a numerous spacious public rooms. The drawing-room has a bar area and double doors onto the small drawing-room and the two rooms open out into one very large room, perfect for weddings or other gatherings. Outside, the gardens have old trees, lawns and the views across the Loch are beautiful. The Castle can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs from Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton. There are many local activities, golf, swimming, clay pigeon shooting, sailing, fishing and quad biking to name but a few. Dunoon itself is the home of the Cowal Highland Gathering  top

For wedding receptions we supply the suite of rooms comprising of Old Hall, Red Room and Workman Library. Guests are normally greeted by the bride & groom at a set of French doors which overlook the south front of the building. They then take pre-reception drinks, served in the staff sitting room. The room is set informally with small groups of easy chairs and some low tables. This allows your guests to gather and chat in an informal atmosphere, and if the weather is fine why not venture out onto the south front to enjoy the formal gardens and terraced lawns. The south front is a very popular place for photographs. At the appointed time guests are called through to the Old Hall where the reception meal will be served. The room can be set out with round tables or more formally with lines of tables to suit the occasion. After dinner, guests can retire to the Red room again for coffee and wedding cake.During this natural break in proceedings Old Hall can be set up for the evenings musical entertainment with a live band or Disco. Bradley House, Wiltshire
Bradley House is not an hotel experience, in fact it is almost the opposite, a lovely old family home in which you can hold your wedding just as you wish it to be. When renting the house you do so for your complete and exclusive use. It has bedrooms (doubles, twins and two family rooms) to sleep up to 25 people and has cots and blow-up beds for smaller folk. Our approach is different from many other wedding venues: we offer to help you put together your own wedding exactly as you would like it to be. We do this by spending time with you to ensure that we understand what you are looking for and by introducing you to the appropriate recommended suppliers: caterers, musicians, florists and so forth. This helps you get both the wedding you are looking for and the best value possible. We are licenced for civil weddings in the house and Maiden Bradley's lovely old church is right next door with a private entrance from our grounds. For smaller numbers of guests it is possible to eat in our panelled dining room, for larger numbers we can site a marquee on our lawns very close to, or even attached to the house.  top

Hamptworth Estate, Wiltshire
Situated halfway between Salisbury and Southampton on the Northern edge of the New Forest National Park, the Hamptworth Estate provides the perfect location for a country wedding and yet is very accessible to both major cities. In the middle of this privately owned 3,000 acre estate sits Hamptworth Lodge a Jacobean style manor house surrounded by stunning gardens and parkland. Inside, the house exudes a warmth and friendliness rarely found in homes of this size. Three of the rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies, The Great Hall for 120 guests, the dining room for 50 guests and the Drawing Room for ten. The Great Hall is spectacular in design and boasts a vaulted beamed ceiling, exceptional furniture collection and a very impressive Willis organ, the twin of that in Salisbury cathedral. 100 guests can be seated for a wedding breakfast in the Great Hall and dancing can take place in the dining room so avoiding the need for a marquee. For those considering a summer wedding, the Summer House in the garden is also licensed for civil ceremonies, with the ceremony taking place in the open fronted structure and guests seated along the terrace  top

As a beautiful Queen Anne style house, of historic interest with mature, private gardens situated in North Wiltshire we are less than three miles from the Gloucestershire border, so we may be an ideal choice for you if you are looking for a venue in or near to both counties! We are only a few hundred yards from the village church & will be getting a civil ceremony licence for 2011. We have a list of preferred suppliers for Marquees & Caterers but can be flexible if you wish to explore other options. We can accommodate, 125 standing only within the house so for larger parties we are best suited for a Marquee wedding, although we are very happy to welcome small parties, (under 50) too!  top

For larger parties a marquee can be positioned in the Courtyard and linked directly to the Coach House, accommodating up to 150 guests. We also understand that couples may choose to have their Wedding Breakfast and evening reception in a marquee at home, but still want to enjoy a beautiful setting for their Civil Ceremony. With this in mind we offer the option of holding your Civil Ceremony in the Victorian Conservatory at Hopton Court, followed by a drinks and canapé reception whilst your photography takes place within the grounds.
